Reflecting on the tool-belt theory
Wow this course has been eye opening already. I love the imagery of the tool-belt theory. All my learning has always lead back to the idea that we need to teach our students how to learn, but with the imagery of the tool-belt theory and particularly in relation to each student and environment requiring a different tool in that moment is fascinating. I love that it stops the thinking that students with a particular disability need a particular technology, when actually that might be true in one situation and not in the next, in exactly the same way that all students need a different tool or skill in each individual situation.
So here’s to learning about as many tools as I can so I can facilitate good quality learning for my students through ICT.
